The specifications off the ones in Japan, now available again for those who have been waiting for a quality tool at a great price, this is it! This Kusarigama is a medium size/weight version. As sizes very greatly, this model is about the average size of what most people are used to seeing. It has a sturdy hardwood handle, slightly thicker blade compared to to the light version model. It comes medium level sharp, so it will cut you but can be sharpened more.

This is the medium weight version. This custom piece comes with a 18" solid hardwood handle, double pinned tang  fixes to just under 9" blade. The blade is made of 10 gauge thick mild steel, hand beveled and semi sharp with a double edge. This grade of steel being a mild steel is not hardened, so light cutting or use would be all. The AR400 steel blades offered in other kusarigama is what you will want if intended use is to be heavy cutting.  This model does come as stated with a semi sharp blade though its not as sharp as the light model. The edges are beveled so the individual practitioner may leave it semi sharp or finish to a razor edge if desired. The blade is completed with a black oxide plated finish  The 10' chain attached to a solid steel hexagon weight are fully functional as this entire tool is intended to be. The steel weight is also black oxide plated. Kama handle comes with special cord wrap at top end for extra stability. This model is the MD2 which has the chain/weight coming off the handle. Please note: This tool is sharp and very dangerous!
